Deus Ex Machine is a self produced EP from Jack Fresia.
It's a statement about the level of entanglement between humans and technology, to the point where our nature is being forgotten, left behind, in favour of an oversimplified lifestyle. Things are done with the push of a button, with a swipe of a card, our true understanding of some of the most basic mechanisms in our life has become close to zero. We are required to obey simple commands, which enables complex mechanisms we know nothing about, but that are slowly taking over our freedom to act, think and make decisions.
But, there might still be some good in all this alienation, it comes from the creative impulse still present in most of us, some of which, it has been evolving along with our technology since forever, and probably is the only thing keeping us somehow connected with our true nature of creators. This EP has been created with some of those machines. The music comes from the interaction between the mind of the artist and the potential of a machine, together they become something else, something that has attributes of both human and machine but is neither of the two. This is his music.
